We’re on to IVF #5! Cycle day one was last week and I went in for the ever so lovely cycle day 3 ultrasound over the weekend. Again, the antral follicle count looks great. There were 14-15 on one side and at least 8 on the other. I’m back on birth control pills and bitchy as ever. Immediately the headaches started and I’m feeling exhausted. Luckily I’m only on them for 13 days this cycle.
My RE was worried about over suppressing me. I think my body shut down with the down regulation last time. I think I’m a bit over sensitive to the meds. I mean last time my E2 level was undetectable when I went in for my suppression check. Hmmm… that should have been our first clue. So this time around we’re doing a different protocol. It’s a totally new protocol for us. We’ve done both agonist (lupron) and antagonist (cetrotide) protocols in the past but this time we’ll be doing a flare protocol. Hopefully this is the magic combination that works for me to produce lots of eggs and our future baby! We’re looking at a mid January egg retrieval… I’ll keep you guys posted!

Oh boy! I forgot how bad those headaches are (and it was only 1.5 months ago). Funny how we just seem to forget all the bad when we look into our childrens precious eyes! Good luck!
