Stuffed!

I don’t think I could eat another bite. The day started off with assorted danishes & coffee… Lunch was yummy soppressata, ham & provolone on asiago & roasted garlic bread. Dinner started off with lobster & corn chowder with hushpuppies stuffed with lump crab meat. And cheddar cornbread with jalapeño pepper butter. Of course there was turkey – apple cider glazed. Mashed potatoes, Madeira wine sauce/gravy, glazed rum carrots, fresh cranberry sauce, green beans with shallots & lemon zest, apple & sausage stuffing, corn pudding, classic sweet potato casserole with marshmallows… I feel like I am forgetting something. To top it all off, we had a cranberry pear bundt cake with a praline glaze & strawberry sorbet and my favorite – Dulce de leche bread pudding with vanilla bean gelato. Wine?? We had several varities… And yummy port. Did I mention I am stuffed?!

We had friends join us – we attempted to do a ‘kid’ table – except none of the kids were interested in eating. We tried to time our feast with the Trio’s usual dinner time. I think we should shoot for earlier next year. They were off their schedule from the activities of today – Mr. B ended up falling asleep instead of eating. The Boy ate a little bit. Little Miss ate like a champ once she joined us at the big table.

All in all, it was a wonderful day spent with family & friends. I am so thankful for what I have.

  1. I NEED pictures of all that lovely sounding food!!

  2. Wow, your FIL must have a subscription to Bon Appetit, because we also had a cider-glazed turkey and lemon green beans. YUM! Will you do me a big favor and ask him — since he's a chef — if you are supposed to rinse a turkey that has had a salt rub on it all night? The recipe we followed (in BA) did not tell us to rinse it, but it was a bit salty, even for my husband.

  3. … not that this is foodie Q&A night or anything, but I thought I'd ask :-)

  4. Oh hell, can we come to your house next year?! Please?! :)

  5. I think I just got full reading all the yummy things you guys had! Our little lady ate like a champ as well, but my boy is quite the picky eater. Our parallel twins continue on in their similarities!

  6. Sounds delicious, I'm glad you had a good Thanksgiving. It was nice to meet you too. Hopefully we will see you again.
